Sean Joyce

Sean Joyce brings more than 23 years of experience in healthcare and enterprise software to Waystar. He leads the engineering organization behind Waystar’s AI-powered platform — spanning software engineering, technology operations, data science and analytics, and platform engineering.

Sean joined Waystar through its 2021 acquisition of Patientco, where he served as Chief Technology Officer for nearly eight years and built the consumer payment technology that became a core part of Waystar’s patient financial experience offering. Earlier in his career, Sean spent a decade as a software engineer, including eight years at Employease, a pioneering SaaS company, and at ADP following its acquisition, where he rose to product and engineering leader.

Sean holds an MBA in finance and strategy from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, where he graduated as a Beta Gamma Sigma scholar, and a BS in computer science from Eastern Michigan University, where he was an honors program graduate and varsity swimmer.
