Waystar’s™ Payments™ and Care Estimator™ Solutions Honored with Healthcare Informatics Innovator Award

ATLANTA, CHICAGO, LOUISVILLE, March 20, 2018 — Waystar™, the combination of Navicure® and ZirMed® revenue cycle technologies, today announced its Payments™ and Care Estimator™ solutions won a 2017 Healthcare Informatics Innovator Award. This award for Waystar’s revenue cycle technology solutions comes on the heels of the company’s solutions having recently received top honors in the 2018 Best in KLAS Software and Services report for the industry’s leading claims and clearinghouse solution for the 8th year in a row.

The award winners, chosen by members of Healthcare Informatics’ editorial advisory board and other national healthcare IT industry leaders, are selected based on effective employment of information technology to make a difference in the healthcare industry. Waystar’s Payments and Care Estimator solutions, which provide meaningful and streamlined solutions for patient payment and cost estimation, have been recognized in the Revenue Cycle Management Section of the Vendor Division.

As healthcare costs and payer structures continue to shift, many patients struggle with new high deductible health plans and increasing payment responsibility. In fact, studies show that the majority of patients are not aware what their payment will be before they enter their doctor’s office. The company’s Payments and Care Estimator solutions allow healthcare organizations to provide proactive and flexible communication to patients, offering them more insight into what will be owed at the time of their visit, and enabling consumer-focused payment options such as credit card on file or payment plans after their treatment to help boost satisfaction while increasing patient collections.

“Consumers are accustomed to receiving estimates at the mechanic or from a contractor, and this should be a widely-adopted practice in healthcare, as well,” said Matt Hawkins, CEO of Waystar. “Waystar is uniquely focused on delivering the innovative solutions that will help our clients, partners and ultimately patients make healthcare more consumer-centric. As we continue integrating our two organizations, we are honored and humbled by the industry’s recognition of our solutions and efforts to meet our objective of delivering cutting-edge revenue cycle technology solutions to help simplify and unify our clients’ transactions with patients.”

“We at Healthcare Informatics are proud for the third year in a row to recognize innovation among software solutions providers, alongside our recognition of patient care organizations, in our Provider Division,” said Healthcare Informatics Editor-in-Chief, Mark Hagland, speaking of the Vendor Division of the Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards Program. “With regard to the revenue cycle management category, healthcare leaders nationwide realize that, in the era of high-deductible healthcare plans, providers are challenged to manage the increase in patient responsibility for the cost of their care. Our judges were impressed by Navicure’s stated ability to create interoperability between and among the electronic health record, patient-facing communications systems, and core financial and revenue cycle management solutions. We congratulate Navicure’s executives on their achievement.”
