“Transformation is the marriage truly between technology and talent,” shared Davis. “So, if you don’t have the right technology in place, your talent can’t use that technology… You want folks to focus on high-value work.”
Both leaders cautioned against waiting for perfection — or deploying disconnected tools without a plan. “You can’t let perfect be the enemy of good,” said Weber. “You have to have small goals initially just to do something new.”
Start where impact is controllable
For Weber, AI adoption began where outcomes were most measurable: claim quality and authorization-related denials.
“The number one reason we don’t get paid is no authorization,” Weber said. “If you know the number one reason is a controllable adjustment, then that’s a great place to start thinking about it.”
Honing in on the highest impact areas directs the team’s efforts where it matters most, while driving meaningful outcomes and creating a foundation for AI-powered improvements.
